Saucony Echelon 5

Saucony Echelon 5

The Echelon was one of the early shoes that provided a broad supportive base on a neutral platform. Version 5 shows that the concept continues to resonate with consumers. The upper is a open mesh with good support from a thermoplastic heel counter, stitched overlays from heel through the saddle and at the toe - (Sacony's Sauc-Fit system), and the remainder is handled by welded supports from the eyelets along the sides of the toes.

The midsole is a Powergrid layer, with a lateral heel of SRC foam which combine for quite a cushy ride. The outersole has injected blown rubber in the forefoot, with Saucony’s durable XT 900 rubber compound from the arch to the heel. The result is a stable shoe that is durable, protective, and accommodates the lower arched foot with really good cushioning.

Testers: "Snug fit in the heel and midfoot with plenty of toe room (and it comes in a wide!). Good cushioning, flexes well with my foot. It helped me manage plenty of miles.”
