Under Armour SpeedForm® Miler Pro $120

Under Armour has shown a commitment to track and field and cross country with shoes for the sprints, distances, and hill 'n dale. The Speedform technology has proven to be quite successful for shoes which require the sleek upper fit, in particular the close fit of a distance spike. The upper is lightweight engineered mesh, with Speedform welding in the heel.

Saucony Showdown 4 $110

Three Olympic cycles have passed since Saucony introduced the Showdown. Version number 4 steps right in with updated improvements in fit and performance. The upper is a multilayered design, from the inside out. A gusseted tongue of soft breathable stretch mesh against the foot, and  smooth heel linings to secure the fit.

Nike Superfly Elite $150

The hope with the design of any track shoe is Top Flight performance. The Superfly Elite is Nike's newest iteration of a proven performer. The upper is a thin, closed, lightweight mesh, which holds its shape well while keeping the foot centered over the spike plate.

New Balance Vazee Sigma $150

Olympic success has focused attention on New Balance's track and field line. The Vazee Sigma is a brand new, top end sprint that saw action at the Rio Olympic Games. The upper is a booty like construction which features a new version of the Boa closure system, with a textile chord replacing the metallic cable, for quickly securing the foot over the spike plate with the twist of a disc.

Hoka One One Speed EVO R $130

The Speed Evo R follows on the heels of the first round of successful spikes from Hoka, with innovation from road racing, the laboratory, and some creative thinking where the two experiences intersect. The upper is closed mesh, with no-sew overlays at the heel, toe, and eyestay, along with the prominent logo, the support of the foot coming largely from the minimal stretch of the fabric.
