The first priority for 361° has been to produce effective running shoes. The Centauri is a new model to 361’s running lineup, aimed at high mileage runners in need of cushioning. The upper is an airy mesh with a secure fit for mid to low volume feet. The midsole is pelletized Dupont Engage foam, with its light weight and resilient, well cushioned ride, paired with an Ortholite polyurethane insole over an EVA strobel board, stacking three effective cushioning solutions. The outersole is carbon rubber over only the high wear portions, with the toughened midsole exposed to save weight without a loss in durability. This set-up also allows the shoe better flexibility and a more adaptable ride from the lightweight foam. The Centari delivers good performance and durability in a reliably protective daily training shoe, without overly taxing the pocketbook.
Testers said: “Snug fit, responsive ride, good durability.” and “Really enjoyed the ride and performance, though I had to go up half a size for a better fit.”
