910-NineTen is an Indonesian running brand that is new to the United States and North American markets. The Takashi-Run Elite is their answer to a serious mileage, lightweight trainer/racer, sans plate. The upper is a gauze-like mesh, reinforced with thin, lightweight welded supports, numerous lacing options, a cushioned but thin and light tongue, and paired cushioned lobes to secure the heel. The innersole is a light and thin polyurethane over the top of a polyurethane Strobel board, that provides extra comfort, cushion, and protection. The midsole is a 40 millimeter stack height, with a measured drop of 6 millimeters, that is protective and responsive. The outersole is pared back to bilateral lobes in the heel, and good coverage over approximately 65% of the forefoot with added flexibility and deformation of the sole under the metatarsals. The combination of performance weight, reasonable durability, uptempo feel, and an economical price makes the Takashi-Run Elite a definite look-see running shoe for versatility and value.
Testers: “Good protection, with a light feel and good rolling geometry. Looks like a good choice for a daily trainer, and at a very economical price.”
