Brooks has succeeded as a running brand by focusing solely on running. This attention to detail is evident in the new Glycerin 20, as the familiar look is updated by new materials that deliver improved performance. The upper features an updated design which provides comfort and ventilation, while maintaining its stylish look. The midsole debuts a new foaming process using supercritical nitrogen, which bolsters the ride and is now a little bouncier, with the bonus of a more durable material. While it has a little different feel than Brooks’ previous foams, the tradeoffs in resiliency and durability are worth the adjustment. The outersole is a thinner layer than previously used, toughened for durability, that provided good traction and flexibility. The bottom line is that the Deluxe ride has become Deluxer, maybe even Deluxerer.
