Thirty-nine versions of a running shoe goes back in time a long ways; so far in fact, that most runners wearing the current shoes were not alive when version one debuted! The best reason to wear the Pegasus 39 is because it is a solid running shoe, which happens to look pretty sleek. The upper features a closed mesh in a classic black, though comes in at least sixteen colors and even a create-your-own version, as well. A skillfully designed running shoe, whether running for fitnes or training to run a serious marathon, the Pegasus will manage the mileage. The midsole is a cushy combo of Zoom Air, with Air bags in both heel and forefoot, and a generous slab of EVA, providing a responsive and protective ride. The outersole, as with most of the 38 previous versions, is a variation of Nike’s venerable waffle sole, still one of the most effective tread designs. The Pegasus 39 continues to be a winner.
