ASICS introduced a new shoe in 1999, that lead a new category specifically for its cushy ride, and named for a cloud, the Nimbus. The 25th edition adopts a new technology, silhouette, and focus on ultra-cush. The Nimbus has been the flagship of ASICS’ neutral running shoes, now through 25 iterations. Version 25 takes a double pronged jump, a new midsole material, and a reconfiguration. The heel contains a new Gel insert, called PureGEL which adds another degree of protective cushioning. The upper features a stretchy adaptable tongue, a new closed mesh which vents well, dries quickly, and fits comfortably. The fit is secure with a good foot shaped last, allowing for a roomier forefoot fit. The outersole is minimal, an arrangement of small dense high abrasion rubber, that give plenty of grip. The overall effect is a luxe ride that makes your run as cloudlike as possible.
