Turntec was the brainchild of longtime running footwear innovator Jerry Turner. Previously, President of Brooks Sports, Turner introduced Ethylene Vinyl Acetate midsoles to the running shoe industry. Turntec was a bargain running brand, with a number of quite good running models, which provided many miles of training for me through the 80’s and early 90’s. In fact, they were one of nine pairs of shoes that I was rotating in 1991, when I was asked to do some writing about running shoes for California Track and Running News.
