The Floatride Run Fast is number two in a trio of Reebok running shoes that provide serious performance, since it is a specially geared toward long races, tempos, and faster running on the roads. The upper is a thin engineered mesh, with a tongue that is airy and flexible. Welded overlays in the mid-foot provide a supported, but very lightweight structure. The midsole is the same polyamide foam found in the beefier Floatride Run, here with a slightly scaled back cradle, but a similar forefoot stack height, that features good flexibility and a nice bounce to the ride. The outer sole is a compound which provides great traction, but is thinned out for weight savings, though more than capable of handling long runs and some pretty serious mileage. The versatility shown in daily training, fast runs, and especially long races – including the marathon, proved the mettle of this light weight performer.
Testers: “Crazy light and really moves, but protects at the same time. Maybe not for everybody, but if it fits it’s a keeper. Better living through chemistry, indeed!”
