The Spinject is a new shoe from 361 which veers from their previous offerings in several ways. The upper is the first 361 shoe to offer a knit construction, here with little stretch, which offers a measure of support, the heel being a more standard engineered mesh with welded overlays merging the two halves (rear quarter and vamp) together. The midfoot has internal webbing tp add extra support to the fit. The midsole is injection molded EVA, the top portion receiving the Quickfoam treatment, but the entire unit is one piece. The ride is somewhat firm, with the forefoot providing a snappy feel, and many runners will be pleased with the bounce in the ride, thanks to an EVA Strobel board. The outersole is spare, just a few “squares” of rubber in the highest wear areas, the rest of the sole is toughened foam. The combination of resilient ride, economical price, and innovative construction makes a look at the Spinject worth your while.
Testers: “Firm ride with good response. Fit well, snug but roomy enough.”
