The ASR Lite is the “racer” of a trio of trail shoes from Brooks for 1998. A mesh upper comfortably provides the fit for secure trail performance, with a breathable mesh making them great for warmer weather and drier conditions, whether for rugged or groomed trails. The midsole is single density EVA, a bouncy formulation which protects well, even on trails of the paved variety. The outersole is a singular layer of carbon rubber, which is grippy on the soft stuff without losing traction on the rocky or paved surfaces which may be encountered on the run. The nitty and the gritty is that the ASR Lite can handle itself well in a variety of conditions.
