The Glycerin is Brooks’ premium neutral shoe, and round 12 features some dramatic changes, in keeping with findings from their research efforts. The upper continues with the construction introduced in round 11 – gusseted tongue, smooth stretch lining that holds the foot securely, 3D printed overlays, all contributing to a great fit. The midsole is Super DNA, the new foam formulation introduced with the Transcend. The geometry, which is a traditional 10 millimeter drop, is shaped for a smoother touch down, the heel is narrowed and beveled into a rounded shape, while the forefoot is a bit flatter and flares to a wider platform, and with a pronounced toe spring. The result is a neutral shoe that fits well, rolls with the foot, and effectively cushions from the road, earning our award for Best Shoe in the Neutral Category.
Testers: “They felt good as soon as I put them on for the first time, with no ‘getting used to them’ period like some shoes. As a training shoe, they’re great, comfortable to run in with a nice transition from strike to toe off, and a stable feeling ride.”
