The Gel DS Racer has long been preferred by racers with a little wobble in their stride. While marginally heavier that their fly weight racers for neutral runners, they provide the kick needed by racers at other levels and needs. The upper is a wide open mesh which secures the foot effectively and offer the ventilation necessary for a hard working foot. The SoLyte midsole offers the same benefits here as in their other racers, with just enough secod-density support to keep things lined up. The outersole offers traction from the blown rubber forefoot and good durability from carbon rubber in the heel. Runners looking for traction rebound and stability will find it in the DS Racer, another success from the ASICS engineering department.
Testers: “The fit is familiar, secure with a good feel around the ankle collar, and roomy in the toes. The cushioning is quite good, but the rebound and responsiveness are a big improvement. I was certainly impressed.”
