With the addition of cushioning and fit technologies never before used here, the updated Premier Ultra KFS V is more like a new shoe than an update. A different combination of the same PU-and-EVA results in a more responsive and better-cushioned feel. The midsole’s DMX foam inserts also account in part for the responsive cushioning. DMX Shear provides additional cushion and lateral release (slowing pronation by compressing slightly toward the outside of the foot) on impact. A sueded portion of the underside of the tongue gives a plusher feel, which combines with the Ortholite innersole for great step-in comfort. The upper features a closer, performance-like fit thanks to the foot-hugging KFS inserts. Combines a plush interior, accommodating fit, and a responsively cushioned ride, successfully negotiating the fine line between protection and performance.
