While not for those who need extra support, the Zoom Moire takes the flexibility of the Nike Free and tames it a bit. The freedom of the forefoot makes it an effective lightweight trainer for the neutral footed, and it’s nearly ideal for supinators. Designed as the archetypal Nike+ shoe, the Nike+ sensor fits into a well under the innersole and sends information to a receiver that connects to an iPod Nano. The upper is a perforated synthetic suede that holds its shape well, but offers no other support—the effect is a bit like a moccasin. The shoe’s main strength is its cushioning, where Zoom Air and ample EVA manage the job. The near-Free flexibility strengthens the foot, but requires that you gradually increase the distance that you run in them.
