Diadora Nucleo 2

Diadora is a fun name to say, and is even better if you have an Italian say it for you. The Nucleo 2 is the update to (wait for it…) the Nucleo, and looking at the detail of the shoe is like examining a work of art. Looks aren’t everything, but when you add the performance of the Nucleo 2, it’s like finding the combination of a nuclear physicist/Super model. The upper is a nicely supported, airy breathable mesh with a smooth interior. The polyurethane innersole features different densities in the arch, heel, and the length of the insole, all providing that extra luxe feel (with a perforated EVA Strobel board for good measure). The midsole is single density Anima foam, with dual outriggers at the top of the midsole offering a touch of stability, unobtrusive, yet effective. The outersole is sparse, for weight savings, but features effective grip with reasonable durability. If a new daily trainer is on your radar, don’t miss the signature provided by the Nucleo 2, it’s a good one.

Testers: “Cushy ride, great for long miles and recovery runs. Diadora knows how to make them, at least as far as I’m concerned.”
