The Pegasus Plus is the newest addition to the Pegasus family, sort of a grandchild to the original Peg from 1982-1983, though in terms of shoe-generations, it may be a great, great grandchild of the original. A Pegasus in basic form, the profile is a good looking daily trainer but with a few bells and whistles. The upper is an engineered mesh – certainly not the nylon textile of the original Pegasus, this example breathes well, has a comfortable flex to it, and has a catchy aesthetic – inviting to the eye. Differing from the mainline Peg’s in a significant way, the midsole is a PEBA – blown nylon formulation, along the lines of the Vaporfly family, though contoured and compressed to make it more durable. The outersole features two parts, forefoot and heel with exposed foam under the midfoot. The outersole features a fun callout to Nike’s waffle history, the traction is provided by alternating “squares” of computer generated waffles with negative space cutouts in between. The finished product is light, protective, and stylish, making your daily run comfortable and smartly equipped.
Testers: “Smooth interior and a good adjustable fit. Light, cushy, and protective. Works well in my rotation.”
