The Adapt is the second round of trail shoes that incorporate adidas’ GCS (Ground Countrol System), their top-of-the-line motion stabilizing technology. In developing the Adapt, adidas carried over the traction and cushioning from its adiStar Trail while focusing design attention primarily on the upper. HF-welded overlays provide support, and the open mesh, even though it’s not the wide-open mesh of the adiStar Trail, provides breathability. The laces have a high-friction surface to keep them tied, and therefore, better maintain the support of the upper. Support in the midsole from the Torsion System shores up the midfoot, making the shoe more stable and maintaining traction and balance. One enthusi- astic weartester summed up the Adapt this way: “Love the fit and performance of this shoe.”
