The ClimaCool Ride takes the ClimaCool line in a new direction. Undoubtedly it will create some buzz as it comes in about a dozen color combinations and features a compelling look, but let’s get to the serious part. The light weight and low profile merge very well with the foot to maximize its natural motion. The upper is airmesh with minimal welded overlays, for just enough structure to wrap your foot, while allowing it to move much as it wants to. The midsole is a laterally zig-zagged ribbon of molded EVA which allows the foot a good level of freedom as well as cushioning. The outersole contributes to the light feel by use of rubber only on the zig-zagging areas, saving about 10-15 percent on the weight of the rubber. The low profile and flexibility require a bit of getting used to, but the shoe will hold up to a good level of wear, if you can.
