Since its earliest beginnings, adidas has been about running performance. The Converter fills the slot in the lineup reserved for lightweight performance, hovering at the 7 ounce range. The upper is a thin layer of breathable mesh with minimal synthetic overlays for support. The compression molded EVA midsole is light, sturdy, and cushions well for a range of distances, depending on one’s biomechanics, but at least in the 5k to 10k range or a bit beyond. The outersole is the expected blown rubber up front for adequate grip, with a carbon rubber heel, perhaps a season’s racing – depending on your racing habits. If adidas has been a good fit for you in racing or training, the Converter is a must see.
