The fourth round of the Supernova Sequence features its most significant changes since its 2008 introduction. The upper continues with the proven open mesh and welded microsuede overlays, but now employs an external TPU “heel stabilizer” to shore up extra side-to-side motion. The midsole has the same basic setup, but changed for effectiveness, the ForMotion unit has a more sculpted heel bevel, and the promoderator is now promoderator”+” altered by thickening the component and turning the ends ninety degrees to shore up the sidewall in three dimensions. The outersole is Continental® rubber, purported to improve traction, but has the standard carbon heel and blown rubber forefoot – maintaining the familiar feel of the Sequence. The combination of stability, cushioning, and value earned the Supernova Sequence 4 our Best Shoe in the Motion Stabilizing category.
Testers: Good smooth ride. Well cushioned, durable, and stable. I was impressed by the quality and performance.
