The FWD series has brought a new level to the Altra line, and that level is 4 millimeters, the heel to toe drop of the series. The FWD Via is the tallest of the series, with a 37mm stack (33 mm up front), offering lots of protection underfoot, and it features a resilient springiness thanks to the supercritical foam, known for its durable rebound. The outersole is a skeletal covering of tough rubber, textured for traction with a grippy design. The upper features an effective engineered mesh, Altra’s wide foot-shaped toebox, and low friction linings to pamper the foot, whether “socked” or sockless. While primarily a road shoe, the low drop, smooth interior, and bonus cushioning of the FWD Via, make it a great transition shoe for on and off road running.
Testers: “Great bouncy feel, with plenty of room for my toes. Fit great, loook good, and really perform.”
