The Gel DS Trainer has focused on stability in a lighter weight package. This has presented an option for longer races and/or faster paces. The upper has veered slightly from the past two seasons, with a more traditional upper and tongue setup. The midsole is stable, thanks to its second density in the heel, and gel inserts in forefoot and heel provide an extra measure of cushioning. The Duosole outersole is tough and provides excellent traction, and the heel features carbon rubber medially and laterally for durability, a lateral cleft smoothing the touchdown. In short, the Gel DS Trainer offers good durability, good fit, and most of all, good running.
