Updates make some people upset. Done right, they can please those same people. One of our wear testers, an ardent fan of the original Nimbus, was visibly upset upon opening the box of Nimbus II. The bulkier appearance and accompanying expectation of weight gain was not a welcome discovery. Looks can be deceiving. ASICS has improved the Nimbus, with better cushioning, stability and performance in a lighter weight package. The upper features a framework of structure, but not too much, synthetic leather overlays which frame the foot for a little alignment. The midsole a fluffy cloudlike layer of foam cushioning, that handled our testing with ease. The outersole is durable carbon rubber tough enough for high mileage. The last word on this update, well done.
Testers: Great cushion, fits well, a little spendy (but what isn’t these days?). Proved to be everything you hope for in an update.
