Round two of the Superblast advances the franchise while maintaining its strengths. With its focus on protection and performance it bolsters both ends of the spectrum. The upper features an elaborate engineered mesh with alternating patterns, and a stretch woven design to accommodate the motion of the running foot. The thin tongue has just enough padding for comfort while keeping the ultra in ultralight, and has a smooth surface to maximize the comfort atop the foot. The max midsole, while newly tooled, features as similar a ride as possible to round one, with very little flex to the sole – it creates more of a rolling motion, as is common with the tallest of tall stack shoes. The outersole maintains the feel, while retooling the molding. The ride, fit, and feel impressed one tester to comment “second verse (nearly) same as the first.” If you are looking for a max cush shoe, the Superblast should be high on your list.
Testers: “Proved great for long miles and recovery runs. Great update to round one – which proved to be a winner for me.”
