ASICS Tiger Ohbori

The Tiger Ohbori, introduced in 1975, did not join my collection until three years later when I was looking for a new shoe for mixed surface cross country races. It was light, fit close, and offered a grippy suction cup sole. I had bypassed it in 1975 when I selected the Tiger Jayhawk, for its more versatile trainer/racer, racer/trainer setup. Because they were both reserved for competitive and faster efforts, they overlapped in my collection and increased the options, depending on the course and the varying racing demands. Though it offered a lot for a racer, I found it was quite good up to 10 miles, but especially suited to 10k on the roads, and I set my personal best at the distance.
