The fit is comfortable, whether in flight or posing for post race photos on the victory stand. The midsole is Substance 257, Brooks proprietary foam blend, a very effective cushioning solution. The outersole is blown rubber up front, for a protective layer no matter how snappy toe-off is, and the heel is a tough layer of carbon rubber for durability. Preparation is key, but the design of the Burn is effective for take-off or re-entry.
