Craft seemingly came out of nowhere with running shoes that just appeared without precedent. In fact, they were just the latest example of all that is required to succeed in the run biz, pick the right people, with the right budget, and clear out some room to maneuver. The Nordlite Ultra is the latest in a growing range of running shoes with versatility, quality design, and an eye toward value. The upper is a trim, airy mesh, that secures the foot comfortably, here in a hard to miss orange package. The midsole is Craft’s first supercritical foam, and it is done very well, suited to high mileage. The outersole is a hybrid, trail to road, or road to trail – depending on your starting point, but suited to either direction. Its slightly oversized dimension adds to the bounciness of the ride, but the responsiveness is readily apparent whether on road or trail. The proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes, and that proof is in the putting on a pair and taking them for a spin. Happy trails, or roads, it’s up to you.
Testers: “Really enjoyed the ride. The versatility was great, easily going from roads to trails.”
