Fila is moving closer to losing its fashion image, in favor of performance oriented footwear. The Emerge is the latest exhibit which testifies to a commitment to technical excellence. The 2A cushioning system proves effective at providing a well cushioned ride. The forefoot is equally cushioned, but due to the articulated design of the midsole/outsole, amazingly flexible. The sensation is one of lightness and security. The sole has a good combination of durability and traction, and the upper is snug and secure. The coming seasons should prove interesting.
