Hylo is a new brand, founded by Michael, a former Soccer professional from the UK, and a couple of friends. The shoe is aptly named, as it makes an impact on a social, performance, and economic level. The question arises: How does someone outside the industry launch a brand and succeed? Well, you are reading this review, so your interest has been piqued, at the very least. Back to the review. The upper is a dual mesh – large openings backed by mini-mesh in the forefoot, and more mini mesh in the rearfoot. The effect is a breathable shoe, hey – soccer players spend most of the game running, so they need a good running shoe for their off-field training, and a breathing foot is a happy foot. The midsole jumps straight to the latest development – supercritical foam, here done very well, providing the well cushioned and responsive ride the material delivers so well. The outersole is a unique arrangement to Hylo; ribbons of carbon rubber, parallel to each other, with the motto of the brand “Run Like The World Depends On It” imprinting the ground with each step; though inverted, which of course, will make you read it again on the shoe’s sole and take it to heart. Give the Hylo Impact a look-see, it very well could become your new favorite shoe.
Testers: “It was new to me. Reminds me of some of my favorite models with its protective feel, and lively rebound. Nicely impressed with the ride, I really like them.”
