The 2005 Pegasus offers many familiar attributes plus a few new twists. Overall, the shoe has undergone some minor tweaking: a modified saddle, a lower-profile midsole and the addition of a PU shock pad in the heel. The pillowy feel of the 2004 version has been replaced by a firmer and more responsive ride. The women’s version garners a Best Renovation award because of these changes as well as the increased toe room (thanks to repositioned overlays) and the cushioned feel of the Ortholite innersole. While the men’s version shares many of these features, it’s a half-step behind. It can be improved by the addition of a quality after-market innersole. One woman tester summed it up well: “Super comfortable from beginning; smooth ride with no blisters/hot spots; plenty of room in toe-box. Great forefoot cushioning; had slight ‘spring’ to it; I liked the cushioning of this shoe.”
