The Vomero has been the flagship of the Nike neutral running line. Round 7 makes some changes while maintaining its most important strengths. The upper is a closed mesh with alterations to the midfoot supports. Previously it featured a thermoplastic saddle, now straps reinforced with Flywire that overlap and attach directly to the lacing, effectively locking the foot over the sole. The midsole has a firm and resilient ride to it, just the type of shoe for high mileage training. The encapsulated Zoom Air configuration offers a ride that is hard to beat, and hard to match. The outersole is segmented to allow good flexion, and reduce weight a bit, much the same as the previous versions of the Vomero. The good news is you can expect the same kind of cushioning and performance the Vomero is known for.
