On Running’s concept is an overnight success… two decades in the making. The Cloudrunner 2 is the update to one of On’s early shoes, the Cloudrunner – though it may not be the first time it has carried the Cloudrunner 2 name. In any event the Cloudrunner 2 (2024) has dropped and it is worthy of your consideration. The upper features three meshes: round holed mesh over the tongue, engineered mesh over the toes, and closed mesh over the remainder of the vamp and the heel. The three provide the needed ventilation of the upper, while offering the fit and support required of the design. Twin thermoplastic supports, medially and laterally, help to align the rearfoot, for stability. The midsole is a single layer of Helion™ superfoam with ON Clouds of increasing size, horizontally from the toes (the smallest) to the heel (the largest) affording good cushioning, flex, and spring. The outersole is a thin durable layer of textured carbon rubber for good durability and reliable traction. Expect the Cloudrunner 2 to perform effectively at a variety of paces, for many quality running miles.
