The Cloudsurfer Next, as the name implies, is the Next thing from On Running. The shoe offers a new take on the shape of On’s Clouds to “shape” your run. The midsole begins with a blown Helion foam, with a new shape to the Clouds – ovoids at an angle, approximately in the 40 degree range from the heel to the toes. The compression of the ovoids cushions the foot through its gait, flexing as it transitions from heel to toe, placed to maximize the efficiencies of faster running. The thin carbon rubber sole is tough, and features a high friction tread for grip and durability, while keeping the weight in the lighter range (9.6 oz. in men’s size 12). The upper is a tough weave, with welded overlays at the rand, toe, and heel, offering support with minimal weight. The fit, weight, and geometry combine to encourage up tempo paces, with the protection to do it on multiple runs in the training cycle, see if it is what’s Next for your running.
Testers: “Light, responsive, and protective. The shoes fit well, and were ready to go, day after day, fast or slower, but who wouldn’t want to run faster in them?”
