The Bangkok was a beefier version of the Tiger Marathon, as a training shoe or long racer. Similar geometry to the nylon racing flat, but more. The midsole featured forefoot and heel cushioning, though not full length, keeping the weight trimmed down. The insole was foamed rubber, ventilated to facilitate evaporation of perspiration between runs. The outersole tooling was a bit sturdier than in the Cub or the Marathon, but with a similar appearance, though toothier.
