Introduced as a versatile light trainer/long racer named for the KU Jayhawks, Tiger continued to differentiate itself from the folks at Blue Ribbon Sports/Nike, and the Obori/Ohbori as each brand wrestled for the feet of runners. The Jayhawk was my choice over the Obori, though I eventually obtained both and had success in each of them for raceday as well as speed day. The Jayhawk was my choice for cross country, and then settled in as a training shoe for faster longer runs. I had a number of choices by that time, so there was a kind of rotation which kept me running.
