Last year, Reebok introduced a shoe described here in three words; cushion, cushion, cushion. They have tried to maintain that ride while making subtle alterations in the system. The DMX 6 chamber is almost as effective as the 10 chambered system from last year, so the ride has been pretty well preserved. Other changes are more than cosmetic as the upper fits better and the redesign of the outersole provides a more stable platform. The next issue to deal with is durability, as the initial introduction would not likely be characterized as “long lasting”. Good news for high mileage junkies who otherwise loved the shoe; specialty running accounts will be carrying a version of the shoe with a solid carbon rubber outersole, so look for carbon on the heel pods. How about a price rollback? Oh yeah, this year’s model is 20 dollars cheaper than last year.
