The Floatzig Tread is a new shoe from Reebok which, while bargain priced deserves consideration, especially if you are looking to add a shoe to your rotation to manage a portion of your mileage. The upper is well ventilated to keep the foot cool, offers a secure fit, and will improve your visibility with its bright colored textile. The midsole is a two part, interlocking design, which offers good cushioning and flexibility for a snappy feel and a smooth ride. The outersole is a lightweight layer of carbon rubber – perforated to keep things light, while providing adequate durability. The reasonable price adds to the bargain, as the tall stack plate-equipped models have sent the costs through the roof, making the Floatzig Tread’s value even a little better. Overall, Reebok has delivered a good easy day shoe, a mid-mileage tempo trainer, or a 5k-10k racer for recreational runners.
Testers: “I was quite impressed with the Floatzig Tread when I noticed that ‘I wasn’t noticing it’ on the run, I was just out enjoying a light, bouncy shoe. Reebok has been on my radar for more than 20 years and still hangs in there.”
