Skechers Go Run Forza 4 Hyper $145

The Go Run Forza franchise has experienced the greatest change of any of the Skechers Performance running shoes. Round 4 introduces new materials and a nifty synergy to effectively provide stability, but with a price bump to match. The upper features a new full-length monomesh, replacing the hybrid from version 3 and eliminating the taping in the rearfoot – not that it caused a problem but rather to simplify the production process. The performance of the mesh is first rate; breathable, comfortable, and supportive. The midsole is a clever marriage of Skechers’ Ultra Flight foam, a strength of the Forza 3, and their long lasting Hyper Burst foam into one unit, curbing the breakdown of the midsole by hyper-mobile feet, largely due to the full contact sole and the well designed rocker, which gives the turnover a kick in the cadence. The full contact outersole is an especially effective and durable compound of Goodyear rubber, a common solution across the entire Skechers Performance line. While likely an almost immediate favorite of current devotees, if there are still Skechers Performance skeptics, the Forza 4 will win them over if they run a mile in their shoes.

“Great support and stability with a smooth rolling action. Roomy but secure fit. Nice rebound from the cushioning, which is what I need from a running shoe.”
